We can meet any post production deliverable on any timeline.
2K-6.5K High Dynamic Range Film Scanning

The process of “Film Scanning” in post production terminology differs from “Telecine” in that each roll of film is scanned into a sequence of high-resolution, pin-registered, discreet image files, typically in the uncompressed DPX format, whereas Telecine converts film reels into a lesser quality standard video stream (SD 525i, HD 720p, HD 1080p/i).
After the scanning process is complete, each frame of film has a corresponding DPX image file which easily interacts with higher-end VFX, DI and restoration imaging applications. Alternatively we can scan straight to ProRes 4444 quicktime files. Most of the film work we do at Cinelicious is with the “pro” film formats – Super 16mm and 35mm. They can be seen in national commercials, ad campaigns and feature films. For S16mm and 35mm (all perfs) we offer HD, 2K, and 4K electronically pin-registered HDR scans from the Scanity.
We also support small format filmmakers and have become the go-to shop for feature film, commercial, fashion and music video DPs wanting the best out of Super 8mm, Regular 8mm and even 9.5mm. Our Lasergraphics ScanStation provides up to 6.5K scans with groundbreaking image stability and multi-flash dynamic range compared to traditional telecines. We also occasionally package film, camera & transfer as a one-stop small format solution for unique artistic endeavors.

Digital Intermediates
A Digital Intermediate (D.I.) is a motion picture finishing process which starts with a scanned motion picture film element (or digitally captured images) and applies color grading, image effects and other changes, even final mastering. It is usually the final creative adjustment to a movie before distribution in theatres.
